Crown XPS insulation sheets shall be installed on clean, sound, dry and properly prepared surfaces. For roof applications, the roof substrate shall be level and free from dust, debris, moisture and irregularities. Crown XPS sheets shall be laid tightly together in a staggered/brick-bond pattern, with joints closely butted to minimize thermal bridging. Where required by the approved system, suitable compatible adhesive or mechanical fixing shall be used to secure the boards. For wall insulation, the substrate shall similarly be prepared and primed where required, and Crown XPS boards shall be installed from the designated starting point with tightly fitted, staggered joints. Boards shall be firmly bonded and/or mechanically fixed in accordance with the approved design, with gaps at joints minimized and penetrations properly detailed. Corners, openings, junctions and service penetrations shall be carefully treated to maintain continuous insulation and prevent thermal bridges. The completed installation shall be protected from prolonged UV exposure and physical damage, and all installation work shall comply with the approved project specifications, drawings, applicable standards and Crown Thermal Insulation's recommended installation procedure.
Crown XPS provides a denser, closed-cell insulation solution designed for applications where moisture resistance, compressive strength and long-term thermal performance are important.
